State Government of Maharashtra is conducting examinations
for the post of Sales Tax Inspector on specified pattern.
POST DETAILS
Posts are filled as per the requirements and vacancies for
the post of sales tax department of the government of Maharashtra for Grade-B.
State Government is issuing notifications in this regards.
Explanation of Post –
Listed - Grade- B
Place of appointment- At any government office any were in
Maharashtra
No of Vacancy: 1090
Pay Scale: Rs 9300-34800/- + Grade Pay of Rs 4300/-
Promotions- As per the age and qualifications, sales tax
officer and the posts above them.
REQUIREMENTS
AGE CRITERIA :-
FOR GENERAL CANDIDATES
(Minimum age: - 21 years And Maximum age: - 33 years)
FOR OBC CANDIDATES
(Minimum age :- 21 years And
Maximum age :- 35 years)
FOR SC/ST CANDIDATES
(Minimum age: - 21 years And Maximum age: - 38 years)
1. Graduate from
any discipline from government recognized college.
2. Knowledge of
Marathi is compulsory.
3. Students in
the final year of the graduation are eligible for the prelims but they must be
graduates when they appear for the mains exam.
4. Application
Fee: Rs 260/- in the form of State Bank of India (SBI) Challan or Credit Card/
Debit Card/ Net Banking/ Cash Card
Note: All the reservations are as per rule of the Government
of Maharashtra.
EXAM PATTERN AND SYLLABUS
The examination is held at three stages-
I. Preliminary Examination,
300 Marks
II. Main Examination, 400 Marks
III. Physical Test (200 Marks) and Interview (75 Marks).
MPSC STI Exam Pattern-
Preliminary Examination consists of 150 Questions (MCQs),
300 Marks and Timing is one and half hours.
The Main Examination has multiple choice types of questions.
Syllabus is of MPSC Civil Service Preliminary exam kind. Question Paper is in
both English and Marathi medium.
This exam is conducted at 4 places in Maharashtra: Mumbai,
Pune, Aurangabad, Nagpur. Students who clear the Main Examination are called
for the Physical Test, after which the Interview is conducted.
After the result of PSI Main Examination there is a Physical
Test.
Only those who score more than 100 marks qualify for the
Interview.

Interview:-
Only those who score more than 100 marks qualify for the
Interview.

How to apply for MPSC (STI) Sales Tax Inspector Preliminary
Examination 2013
Eligible candidate can apply through MPSC Online application
system, www.mpsconline.gov.in
The new candidate has to register first and then after login
can apply for MPSC STI Exam. The previously registered candidate has to just
login with their user name and password and apply. Due to data base problem,
some of the online procedure has been changed.
